Big Water Retreat on Lake Murray

Welcome to Big Water Retreat, a waterfront home on the big water of Lake Murray in Lexington, South Carolina. Wide-open lake views stretch from every bedroom, and the sunsets off the back deck are the kind you plan your evening around. Spend the day between the saltwater pool and the lake, then gather for dinner at a 10-seat table as the sky turns orange over the water. And every Fourth of July, the Lake Murray fireworks launch from Spence Island, in full view of the pool and dock. Freshly renovated and repainted in fall 2026, this is the home our own family uses, not a cookie-cutter rental. It is furnished and cared for that way, and you will feel it the moment you walk in. We never want to leave, and we don't think you will either. Made for two families The house splits naturally into two private floors, so two families can share a vacation and still have their own space. • Upstairs: two bedroom suites, each with its own bathroom. The primary suite is massive, with a king bed, jacuzzi tub, stand-up shower, walk-in closet, and sweeping lake views. The second suite is the kids' room, with a queen bed, twin-over-full bunk beds, and a closet stocked with books and toys. • Downstairs: a large king bedroom with a stunning lake view, and a queen bedroom with its own private sitting room and queen sleeper sofa. That sitting-room suite is our favorite room in the house. The two rooms share a full bath at the end of the hall, and there is a half bath on this floor too. Separate air-conditioning systems upstairs, downstairs, in the sunroom, and in the rec room mean everyone sets their own temperature. The pool and the lake • Saltwater pool with a beach-entry sun shelf where little ones can play in the shallows • Pool heating available for an additional fee • Sonos sound system at the pool, plus a portable Sonos speaker for the kitchen • Four pool loungers, an 8-person table on the pool patio, and a kids' picnic table for four • Resort-style landscaping throughout • Dock with steps into the lake for swimming and fishing, and a front-row seat for the Fourth of July fireworks over Spence Island • Kayaks and paddle boards for exploring the shoreline • Back deck with a Weber grill and a 6-person table facing the sunset • Bring your own boat, or ask us for local rental companies that deliver a boat to the dock and pick it up when you are done Inside the house • Kitchen with a large island and breakfast nook, open to the living room and looking out over the water • Formal dining room with a massive table seating 10 • Sunroom with a large TV, mini fridge, and sectional, perfect for movie night with the kids • Private office with closing doors and an executive desk, for the days work comes along • Separate recreation room with a ping pong table, 65-inch TV, Ms. Pac-Man arcade, and Golden Tee golf • Two-car garage and plenty of parking Where you are • University of South Carolina: 35 minutes to campus. Visit your college student or catch a Gamecocks game at Williams-Brice Stadium, then come home to a quiet lake house. Close enough for comfort, far enough for peace. • Augusta National Golf Club: about 1 hour 10 minutes, a relaxed home base for Masters week. • Lake Murray: nearly 50,000 acres of open water for boating, fishing, and swimming, right off the back of the house. A quiet lake house This is a peaceful home in a quiet neighborhood, and it is not a party house. It is ideal for families, reunions, golf trips, and parents visiting USC. Per Lexington County rules, reservations are limited to 8 guests over age 5; younger children are welcome in addition. Returning guests receive a discount on every future stay. Sleeping arrangements There are 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, and 7 beds, with a maximum of 8 guests over age 5. Every bedroom has a lake view.

House Rules Check-in is after 3:00 PM and checkout is by 11:00 AM. Maximum 8 guests over age 5, per Lexington County’s short-term rental permit. Children 5 and under are welcome in addition. Only registered guests may stay overnight. No parties or events. This is a quiet residential neighborhood, so please be respectful of our neighbors. Quiet hours are 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM, including outdoor music at the pool. We unfortunately do not allow pets of any kind. No smoking or vaping anywhere inside the home. No glass on the pool deck. Shatterproof cups and wine glasses for the pool are in the kitchen. Pool heat is available for $50 per day. Please request it at least 2 days before check-in so the pool has time to warm up before you arrive. We can’t guarantee heat on requests made closer to arrival. Pool, dock, and lake: these areas are unsupervised. Children must be watched by an adult at all times, and life jackets should be worn on the kayaks and paddle boards. Parking is in the garage and driveway only. Please treat our home with the same care you would your own. It’s our family’s home too.
